About Project

section-cover

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to sustainable and environmentally friendly development of Serbia's energy sector by enhancing capacities in sector to use RES and other distributed generation (DG) and efficient usage of resources according to EU standards.

The purposes of this project are to assist Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS group) in overcoming existing and potential challenges in RES and other DG integration into the distribution grid, as well as to build the capacity of EPS Group to develop the company and prepare it to work in competitive electricity market with transparent regulatory regime and increased share of renewable sources in compliance with the obligations set by the and relevant EU directives. Another common purpose of the project is to make power engineers competent for power system analysis of connection and operation of perspective DG by using computer simulation. The focus should be on the expected increase of renewable sources in distribution grid. The remaining purposes of the project are to implement new technologies including smart grids to accommodate small renewable sources, storage technologies and electrical vehicles charging stations and to establish perspectives for transition to low carbon energy production and to redefine role of DSO on energy market.
